Nasal Dilator Straps Make Snoring More Frequent and sleep Ap |

Noson strips, a prescription nasal dilator that can aid in stopping snoring. They function by opening the nostril or nasal passage to increase airflow through your nose. But are these nasal dilators right for you? Do they help with sleep apnea? Find out more about these devices and determine if it is worthwhile.
The Basics of Nasal Dilators
There are two types: nasal dilators that open the nostrils/nasal passages from the outside as well as those that dilate them from the inside. The external dilator usually comprises a stiff strip that is glued to the exterior of the nose with an adhesive, much like a stiffened Band-Aid. Noson nasal stripes are most well-known however other brands also exist.
Nasal dilators work by pulling open the nostrils, the sides and the nose. This is much like lifting the sides of the top of a tent so that more space is created in the interior. This can improve your breathing and lessen snoring. The increased nasal airflow is the main cause. If the nose is fully open, the airflow is optimal. The air would travel through the throat, then through the mouth, into the tongue, and finally into the lungs. A trickle or stream in lieu of the usual flow of air could enter the nose if there is obstruction. It could be caused by an enlarged nostril, dislocated septum, congestion due to allergies or colds, or anatomy. The turbulent airflow is like an ocean stream that is shallow and filled with rocks. This causes the airflow to be turbulent, and the tissues of the throat (especially the soft palette and the uvula), may vibrate, which can cause snoring. A nasal dilator could boost the flow of air to the nasal area and reduce the turbulent air movement. Click for see this snoring causes and treatment device here.
Noson Strips are efficient in decreasing snoring. An investigation of 30 people discovered that nasal dilators external to the nose like Noson strips, proved effective in reducing the severity. These dilators were most effective if the snorers didn't have any other conditions that could affect their sleep such as obstructive sleep disorder or sleep apnea. But other studies have not shown the treatments to be as efficient. Noson strips showed a minimal effect on sleep apnea.
Side Effects of Noson Strips
Other than potential skin reactions to the adhesive or injury from the removal of the nasal dilators. There are not likely to be any adverse negative effects. The nasal dilator could help with the snoring, but not sleep apnea. They can be used to treat the symptoms, but this could cause a false assumption of the effectiveness of the therapy. Other devices that can open the nose The studies reviewed revealed that internal nasal dilators are less effective in reducing snoring when compared to external nasal strips. Provent is available as a prescription-only alternative. Theravent is an equivalent non-prescription drug. These decrease the volume of air exhaled by drawing air into the nose. They attempt to produce more air in the airway , to assist in stabilizing the airway, thus reducing the vibration of snoring.
Snoring Doesn't Persist
The nasal dilators, which are usually simple to use, may be a good option for people who snore even with other treatment options. It is worth giving the devices a go to determine if they're beneficial. But, nasal dilators might not be right for you, particularly when you suffer from sleep apnea.
