Steps and requirements to approve a degree in Spain |

Homologation consists of the official recognition of the training completed to obtain a foreign university degree comparable to that required to obtain a Spanish degree, the obtaining of which is required for the exercise of a regulated profession. In this sense, the homologation grants the foreign degree, from the date on which it is granted and the corresponding credential is issued, the same effects of the Spanish degree to which it is homologated throughout the national territory. Likewise, it will entail the possibility of exercising the regulated profession in question under the same conditions as the people who hold the Spanish titles that qualify them for such exercise. This would be one of the three procedures used for such recognition, with equivalence and validation being the remaining ones. Under the provisions of article of the Spanish Constitution, the regulation of the conditions for obtaining, issuing and homologating academic and professional titles is the exclusive responsibility of the State.
Legal basis that regulates the approval of foreign degrees in Spain The organization of the conditions, requirements and procedures for the recognition of higher education degrees obtained in foreign educational systems in relation to the corresponding official university degrees in Spain, is regulated in Royal Decree /, of October which establishes the Cell Phone Number List conditions and procedures for homologation, declaration of equivalence and validation of university teachings from foreign educational systems and which regulates the procedure to establish correspondence at the level of the Spanish Framework of Qualifications for Education Superior of official university degrees belonging to previous academic organizations (RD /). III. What titles are not comparable? In accordance with the provisions of (RD /), the following foreign titles or studies issued or carried out abroad will not be subject to homologation: (i) Foreign degrees with harmonized training that do not meet the criteria established in European Union regulations.
Those corresponding to foreign studies carried out, in whole or in part, in Spain, when the centers lack the required authorization to teach such teachings, or when the teachings sanctioned by the foreign degree were not effectively implemented in the university or foreign higher education institution at the time it issued the degree. (iii) Qualifications that have been the subject of a homologation procedure in Spain in which a resolution has been issued regarding an identical application, understood as one formulated in relation to the same foreign qualification and for the same official Spanish qualification. (iv) Degrees that have been subject in Spain to a procedure for declaring equivalence in which a resolution has been issued regarding an identical application, meaning an identical application is one made in relation to the same foreign qualification and for the same academic level. (v) The degrees on which the validation of your studies is being processed by a Spanish university. (vi) Degrees obtained by recognition of professional or work experience or unofficial university studies (own or continuing training) in a percentage greater than percent of the total credits that make up the study plan.
